Brigitte Bardot's Home, 1958

“Resurgerence of well-tailored and cool nonchalance for a thrilling sense of ease.”
The Madrague was inspired by the enveloping and cozy Brigitte Bardot’s home in Saint-Tropez. Drawn to the seclusion of southern France, Brigitte bought the house in 1958, where she would go to withdraw from the spotlight and the busyness of life. The property is a peaceable enclave, shrouded in bamboo, pine and lavender and perfumed by wild herbs and flowers. The house itself lies behind a Klein-blue gate and opens up to a “pieds dans l’eau” terrass.
Inside, the furnishings are bohemian and eclectic, very casual and somehow frozen in time. She adored the house so much that the song “La Madrague” reveals itself as a tender anthem to summertime in Saint-Tropez.
The Madrague style features an encompassing silhouette and represents Ambleme’s own hymn to everlasting summers.
